Rise Up: a Scientific Interface
Rise Up is a moment where, during the coffee breaks, the participants in the KISMIF Conference may present their works. So, if you have a recently edited book, if you released a record, etc. this might be the moment for you to present it in Portugal. Send us your ideas via e-mail (email@example.com) until April 30th, 2014. We promise to be quick in providing feedback.
KISMIF Conference Dinner
The KISMIF Conference Dinner will be held at a beautiful building (Círculo Universitário do Porto) and has a cost of 35€ per person.
The menu will have vegan options and will include an assortment of starters, one main course, a great variety of desserts, drinks, tea/coffee.
The KISMIF Conference Dinner will be held in a beautiful mansion built in line with the Porto architectural statement of the XIX century. Known as Casa Primo Madeira, it is owned by the University of Porto. It has Romantic gardens inspired by British designs and was interventioned, in the 1980’s by the famous Porto architect Fernando Távora, having won the João de Almada Award.
Dinner will be followed by an informal get-together in the lounge area, where there will also be the opportunity to dance, socialise and enjoy the unique charm of the venue. During the Conference Dinner we will have DJ sets by local DJ.
If you wish to participate in this unique event, you must send us an email (firstname.lastname@example.org) until May 30th, 2014. It is strongly recommended to purchase your conference dinner tickets early in advance as places will be limited.
Trip to Douro
On Saturday, the 12th of July, the KISMIF International Conference invites all participants to a trip to Douro, a region which figures as UNESCO's World Heritage. With meeting and departure from one of the most beautiful train stations in the world (http://www.travelandleisure.com/articles/worlds-most-beautiful-train-stations/11), S. Bento Station, in the heart of Porto's Historic Centre, the trip will last all day long and includes a guided visit to Douro's Museum, in Régua, where participants will have the opportunity to have lunch in an idyllic set. Participants will also have the opportunity to take part in a wine flight which will allow them to taste the region's most relevant treasure.
Registration for this trip is now open. The trip has a cost of 85 euros and includes the train tickets, the entrance and guided visit toDouro's Museum, lunch at "Companhia" [Company] Restaurant and the wine flight at the Museum's "Laboratório de Sabores" [Laboratory of Flavours].

- 11:10 - Arrival at Estação da Régua;
- 11:30 - Guided visit to Douro's Museum;
- 12:45 - Lunch at "Companhia" Restaurant;
- 15:00 - Guided visit, with wine flight;
- 16:30 - End of the visit;
- 16:50 - Departure from Estação da Régua;
- 18:50 - Arrival at Estação de São Bento, Porto.
